How much gold is in a computer?
That’s a question I’ve been asked many times by my fellow PBX users, and it is a valid one. After all, everybody knows that gold is worth more than silver or copper – so how much gold is in a computer? The answer is not an absolute number because there are many different types of gold in a computer. There’s gold in the gold finger, there’s gold in the motherboard, and then there’s that extra little bit of gold that you won’t find anywhere else.
Is it true or myth?
Some people will tell you that there is almost no gold in the average computer. There are only small traces in there at all. I can’t believe that; I think it’s much, much more than that. Even if you look in an old computer for example, like one of those old 286 machines or something like that, then you will see that there is still some gold there.
I think the inside of computers must be fairly similar to our own human bodies for example. There must be lots of different kinds of cells, and they’ll need things like magnesium, calcium, potassium and all sorts of other metals – even iron. So if we’re made out of these types of materials, then I see no reason why a computer shouldn’t have them too.
How much gold is in a computer?
The amount of gold in a computer depends on what computer you are talking about. Different makes and models of computers have different amounts of gold in them.
There is always that one extra little bit of gold that you cannot find anywhere else. This is the gold that you find in other computers but it is worth more than other types of gold because this is pure 24-carat gold. There’s only one way to get your hands on this but I cannot tell you how without ruining the surprise.
Only those with the secret password know how to access this gold and only those with the secret password know how much gold they have. Find the secret password and you will find a fatherload of gold beyond your wildest dreams – oh, and I’ve been asked not to mention any prices until after the election is over because these things are good for everybody regardless of their income or social status.
Is it worth extracting gold from computers?
Methods to extract gold from computers have already been invented, but it’s just not worth the trouble. First of all you have to buy other types of gold which are cheap and relatively easy to get hold of – like other people’s old computers or scrap metal. This is usually where most people start off when they try to make money this way.
Then you have to spend a lot of time and money extracting the gold from inside computers. The value of the gold is so small as well that it’s not really worth all the trouble involved as there are easier ways to make money – like buying and selling domain names for example.
Does anybody care how much gold is in a computer?
Not enough people care about this. We need to know exactly how much gold is in a computer, and then we need to share the information around so that everybody knows. It doesn’t matter what kind of computer it is either – laptop, desktop computer or gaming machine. The price it sells will vary according to its age and make/model, but the figures I have given above are good for any computer of any age or type.
This information is not yet available in shops – you won’t see prices on laptop machines saying that they contain this much gold or that much gold. So you need to ask people how much their computer is worth when they sell it to you.
