How to spot a good Selco job advert

Here’s a quick guide to finding a decent job advert. Not every job advert is worth your time.

A Named Branch and Location

A good job advert will tell you the Name of the Branch and the Location of where the job is based. For example, we have a number of vacancies based in the South East and other various locations throughout the country.

Clear Pay, Hours, and Contract Type

Pay, hours and contract details. This should include the hourly rate or salary for the job, a description of the shifts and the type of contract it is, i.e. full time, part time, temporary.

Realistic Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Good Selco jobs list the day-to-day tasks that you will do when working in the job, as opposed to listing a bunch of buzzwords that describe a “dynamic environment”.

Mention of Training or Progression

This suggests that the employer has thought beyond filling the current vacancy. Opposite of this would be some vague wording that contains a lot of buzzwords and is used in many adverts and fails to deliver.

A Clear Way to Apply

If the advert contains most of the above points, it’s worth applying for the job.
