More and more people are now getting cosmetic treatments done, such as botox and dermal fillers. Something which was once just done by the rich and famous is now something that is available anywhere and is much more easily accessible to normal people (ie not Hollywood A lIsters!)
However, with this ease in accessibility, there has also been an alarming rise in problems and botched cosmetic surgeries being done by people who really shouldn’t have been doing it at all. So if it is something that you are considering having done you really need to make sure you thoroughly research beforehand to ensure that you are going to someone qualified to be doing that job.
A good thing to do is to ask around – word of mouth is great for things like this as you can see the results on someone else and ask about their experience. Talk to as many people as you can and ask them to recommend someone to you and also give their reasons.
Check the qualifications and licenses of the place. They also should have something called Medical Indemnity Insurance https://www.mprs-uk.com/products/general-practice/medical-indemnity-insurance/ which will allow you to be protected if something were to go wrong. Spend time looking for people who are properly qualified.
Don’t just go somewhere because it is the cheapest – this may mean that they could be cutting corners, and often if something looks too good to be true then it usually is!
